Chip Walton is honored to be the first Executive Director for the Grand Valley Creative Alliance. After working in the Denver non-profit sector for almost three decades, Chip arrives in Grand Junction after spending the last few years in México and Santa Fe, New Mexico. As the co-founder and Producing Artistic Director of Curious Theatre Company, Chip built the organization into one of the most acclaimed professional theaters in the Rocky Mountain Region. On behalf of Curious, Chip was honored to accept the Denver Mayor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, as well as the National Theatre Company Award from the American Theatre Wing. Additionally, he served as the President of the National New Play Network, on the Board of Directors for the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, and was a featured panelist at the prestigious Aspen Ideas Festival at the Aspen Institute. Outside of work, Chip is an avid golfer, passionate about horses and sports, and a connoisseur of the Grateful Dead. Chip feels very fortunate to have returned to Colorado, and looks forward to becoming a part of the Grand Valley community.l
Cierra supports the day-to-day operations of the GVCA, drawing on a background in hospitality and a creative interest in fiber arts and design. With experience in restaurant management, she brings strong organizational skills and administrative coordination to the team. Outside of work, Cierra enjoys exploring the Western Slope and staying connected to the local community through music and art.
Giselle Genova is a local Artist based out of Fruita, Colorado. She spends most of her time painting windows, murals, and developing artistic ways to engage in her community. Giselle’s art-style can be described as bold and colorful. Born and raised in the Western Slope, the local community and scenery has made a huge impact on the artwork she creates. Her mission through her art is to bring life and color to spaces that need it most, helping make her community more and more vibrant.
